Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 28, 2026
DayMore is a diary app for iPhone and iPad developed by DayMore Corp. This policy explains where your diary is stored, what information the app collects, and which third-party services are involved.
Overview
- No account: DayMore has no sign-up or sign-in of its own. We never know your name, email address, or Apple ID.
- Your diary is not on our servers: entries, photos, and settings are stored on your device and, if you choose, in your own iCloud or Google Drive. We cannot read them.
- Minimal collection: the only data collected is anonymous usage, diagnostics, and advertising data processed by Google services, as described below.
Your Diary
- On your device: everything you write, the photos you attach, locations, folders, and settings are stored in the app's own storage on your device.
- iCloud sync: when iCloud sync is on, your entries and photos are stored in the private area of your own iCloud account so that they sync across your devices. Only you can access that data through your Apple ID. You can turn sync off in Settings inside the app.
- Google Drive backup: if you choose to back up to Google Drive, you sign in with your Google account and the app uploads a backup file to your Drive. The app only has access to files it created. We never receive the backup.
- Export: text, photo, and PDF exports are created on your device and shared through the iOS share sheet to the destination you choose.
- Downloads from our servers: optional theme photos and fonts are downloaded from our servers when you select them. These downloads do not include anything about you or your diary.
What We Collect
The following information is collected without linking it to you personally:
- Usage data: app events such as a feature being opened, an ad being shown, or Premium being purchased. Collected through Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used. The content of your entries is never included.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and device information such as model and iOS version. Collected through Firebase Crashlytics to find and fix bugs.
- Advertising data: the free version shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads, under Google's privacy policy. Premium removes ads.
DayMore may ask for permission to track you for personalized ads, using the standard iOS prompt. If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalized. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Third-Party Services
DayMore uses the following services. Each processes data under its own privacy policy.
- Apple: iCloud sync, purchases, and the iOS Calendar, Photos, and Maps features used by the app. Apple Privacy Policy
- Google Drive: optional backup to your own Google Drive. Google Privacy Policy
- Google AdMob: serves ads in the free version. Google Privacy Policy
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google): usage and crash reporting. Firebase Privacy and Security
Permissions
DayMore asks for the following permissions only when you use the related feature. Each one is optional.
- Photos and Camera: to attach pictures to an entry or set a photo theme. The app receives only the pictures you choose or take.
- Location: to attach your current location to an entry and show entries on a map. The location is saved with the entry on your device and in your iCloud sync; it is never sent to us.
- Calendar: to show holidays, birthdays, and events from the iOS Calendar next to your entries. The app reads events only; it does not change them.
- Face ID: to unlock the app when you have set a passcode. Face ID is handled by iOS and the app never sees biometric data.
- Notifications: to remind you of to-dos at the time you set. Reminders are scheduled on your device.
Purchases
Premium is an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription processed by Apple through the App Store. DayMore receives only a confirmation that the subscription is valid. We never see your payment details. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple ID settings.
Data Retention and Deletion
- On your device: entries, photos, and settings are deleted when you delete DayMore.
- iCloud: synced data stays in your iCloud account until you delete it. You can remove it in iOS Settings > your name > iCloud > Manage Account Storage.
- Google Drive: backup files stay in your Drive until you delete them there.
- Usage, diagnostics, and advertising data is retained by Google according to its policies and is not linked to you. You can limit ad personalization in iOS Settings and in your Google ad settings.
Children
DayMore is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
